Industrial Services were awarded a variety of work under 5 separate contracts on this 13-story mixed use high rise located at the south university district at the University of Michigan. This building will provide additional student housing with top notch amenities, along with 1st floor retail spaces and an underground parking deck.
As part of the project, Industrial Services was hired by the concrete subcontractor, acoustical subcontractor, and masonry subcontractor to perform their division 7 needs.
For the concrete subcontractor we installed waterproofing on the concrete cap placed over the ERS walls around the building, and over split slab locations using Meadows Hydralastic 836. We also installed water repellent on the parking deck slabs for them using MasterProtect H 200.
For the acoustical subcontractor we installed AVB on their CFMF walls on the first 2 floors using Henry Blueskin VP160.
For the masonry subcontractor we installed AVB at CMU walls on the first 2 floors using CCW Barritech, as well as AVB detailing on the panelized walls from level 3 to roof level using Vaproshield Panelshield SA while riding their hydro-mobile up the 13 stories. We also installed head of wall firestopping at rated CMU using Hilti. Installed expansion joint compression seals where this new building met an existing building using Emseal Seismic Colorseal. Lastly, we installed all the masonry joint sealant at the interior and exterior of the building. To install the joint sealant on the exterior façade our tradesman had to ride and operate a swing stage to access the work.
